Meeting Notes
RAB meeting started approximately 700pm. The meeting began with
introductions and a presentation by Kristina Curley of the U.S. Army
Environmental Command (AEC). The presentation gave a brief history of
the RAB process, explaining the purpose and goals of the RAB program.
She went on to explain the intended roles and responsibilities of the
co-chairs and the elected members of the RAB. Comments from one citizen
attendee related to an online RAB handbook and the distinction of HWMU
13 aka the active Open Burning Ground and SWMU 13 the adjacent strip of
land between the OBG and the New River. Ms. Curley provided the citizen
attendee with her copy of the handbook. Mr. McKenna and Mr. Weissbart
addressed the question of the two units. The meeting ended at
approximately 8:30 and was followed by a poster session. The agenda and presentation slides are available at the links below:

The Poster Session consisted of three stations of posters and fact sheets presented by each of the contractors currently working on Radford's IRP program.
UXB/Kemron presented SWMU 40. Shaw Environmental, Inc presented SWMUs 48/49, SWMU 54, Army Reserve Small Arms Range. ARCADIS presented the NRU areas (Building Debris Disposal Trench, Bag Loading Area, Igniter Assembly Area, Northern Burning Ground, Western Burning Ground, Rail Yard, Groundwater).
