Introduction
The RAB Meeting began at 6:30 pm with Jim McKenna introducing the RAB meeting attendees, followed by an announcement that the site tour would include the Installation Restoration Program (IRP) sites. All meeting attendees then got into the cargo van with their visitor badges and the tour began.
Site Tour
All IRP sites were viewed from the van, except for the New River Unit sites because of a lack of time. RAB Members will be allowed to see these at a later date. Jim McKenna and Jeremy Flint went over a brief history of each site and their status as the attendees viewed them and asked any questions they had pertaining to the sites. Shaw Environmental attendees, Jim Cutler with the VDEQ, and Jeremy Flint with ATK stepped out of the van at SWMU 39 in safety gear to view the site in detail. Jim Cutler in particular wanted to get a better idea of what the site looked like so that he could assess whether or not the delineation plan for it was adequate. After viewing the site, Jim Cutler decided that he would need to go over the details of the report again to be sure of what his decision will be. However, he believed that he would like more delineation sampling in some form to occur in the South Pond of SWMU 39 in order to adequately define the grossly contaminated areas there.
Closing Remarks
At 9:00 pm, the van returned to the visitor center and the meeting was adjourned.
