Introduction
Jim McKenna began the RAB meeting at 7:05 introducing the RAB meeting attendees followed by an update of the Installation Restoration Program (IRP) status.
Document Reviews
Mr. McKenna discussed the status of document submittals to the regulators and presented the Radford AAP IRP Status Report update (first sheet). There was general discussion of reports that had been submitted lately and concern that EPA and DEQ might start to get backlogged on report review.
Former Lead Furnace Area (FLFA) & SWMU 51
Jeff Parks (Shaw) went through a presentation on the findings of the RFI/CMS reports for the Former Lead Furnace Area (RAAP 040) and SWMU 51 (RAAP 001) that have recently been submitted to the regulators. General discussion followed but no significant issues were raised.
Radford PBC II
Mr. McKenna also stated that a new PBC contract had been awarded in February, 2008 and that Tom Meyer from USACE, Baltimore would discuss the subject further.
Tom Meyer talked about the PBC that was awarded to Arcadis in February, 2008. The award included the following sites:
RAAP 042 – Alternate Source Demonstration for RAAP 042 (HWMU #5)
RAAP 047 – Work Plan and RFI/CMS for Buildings 1549, 1041, and 1034.

The next RAB meeting is scheduled for June 19, 2008. There was a discussion as to the possibility of having a field trip in lieu of meeting at the NRVCC. Details would be finalized in the future if there was interest and the logistics could be worked out.
